If you haven't been keeping track of the latest neighborhood news since the 2014 season ended, here's the headlines:
(Opening March 30), Korean Fried Chicken and a big bar, at Half and K Streets, SE.
Willie's Brew & Que
, at 3rd and Tingey streets in the Boilermaker Shops, offers barbecue, lots of libations, and many screens for your sports viewing pleasure.
The Big Stick
, at Half & M streets, is a beer-and-brats sports bar, and is also the first restaurant to finally
open on Half Street.
on Tingey Street in the Boilermaker Shops sells Spanish small sandwiches, along with beer and sangria.
Subway Cafe, at 20 M Street SE, offers, well, you know.

What was supposed to be the showplace of the neighborhood languished for a number of years, but that's starting to change:
The 168-room Hampton Inn
at 1st and N is topped out and should open later this year.
Residential, office, hotel, and retail projects Ballpark Square/99 M
saw the initial start of construction in mid-March.
In early 2015 JBG picked up a bunch more land
from Akridge, and is planning two more residential buildings. (The Fairgrounds should still operate throughout 2015, though!)
And just off the top of the map at Half and M is a Homewood Suites
, where digging began in early March.
