In March 2007, Lerner Enterprises announced that 20 M Street was "substanially" complete; the finishing touches were still being put on outside, but at least the sidewalks are open. Within days, the construction equipment was gone, and signs appeared advertising that Wachovia and FedEx/Kinko were Coming Soon (though those signs disappeared in early 2008). (3/31/07)

The US Capitol dome is plainly visible when looking at the Half and M intersection from the south (it's bigger in real life than in this photo); the 20 M lot is to the left. Tenants in the upper north-facing floors of 20 M should have a great view of the city's monument core. (05/03)

The same spot, tilted up a bit, more four years later, six months after 20 M's completion. (10/07)

Looking at the north side of M Street, from east of South Capitol Street, in January, 2003. 20 M's lot is at the far left. 80 M, 1100 New Jersey (under construction in this photo), and 300 M are the other office buildings in this photo. (01/03)

The northwest corner of Half and M Streets; a Navy Yard Metro Station entrance is diagonally across the intersection, on the southeast corner. This view is similar to the rendering at the top of the page. (07/05)

20 M's lot, at right, before the beginning of construction. For now, a Metrobus depot is across M, but it will most likely be given over to development as part of the Ballpark District. (11/04)

In case you had any doubt about how close 20 M is to the Navy Yard Metro station. (02/07)

20 M has changed the South Capitol and M intersection landscape, even though it's a half-block away; St. Vincent de Paul's church now has a friend looming over its shoulder. (01/07)

20 M Street is also now quite visible from a good ways away, including across the Anacostia River at Poplar Point, where it seems to loom over the under-construction home of the Lerners' new baseball team. (20 M is one block north of the stadium's Half Street entrance.) (5/19/07)
