It's not technically in Near Southeast, but people often ask about the lovely power plant just north of the Southeast Freeway and east of South Capitol Street (you can see its
smokestacks in these pictures, or in the shots I took on the last stadium tour looking toward the Capitol, at the bottom of
this page).
