Checking out the build-out on a rainy day of the Boilermaker Shops, a World War I-era industrial building being converted into a retail space at The Yards. For more information about the Boilermaker building, including "before" photos, see my project page.

What a beautiful day to be taking pictures! Looking at the Boilermaker's entrances and patios along Tingey Street. The Bluejacket Brewery's entrance is at right, with Buzz Bakery immediately to the left. (link)

The original plans for more shops on the second level of the Boilermaker Shops have been changed, and now there is fully leased office space being built out, seen here, looking west. (link)
Looking east in the office space, toward the interior windows that are seen from Bluejacket. And of course there's the Shaw 15 Ton Crane, which unfortunately will only be seen by people who get to come into the office space. (link)

Meanwhile, across the street, digging is pretty much completed for the Twelve12 4th Street apartment building, where Harris Teeter and As-Yet-Unnamed Fitness Center will be arriving in 2014. Work on piles should begin soon. (link)
