Way to go, Ohio: When you are just ready to get home, spending many hours driving on turnpikes does little to change your mind.

Nickel-and-dimed: It's a tough call as to who looks more drained of life in this picture.

So close and yet so far: Are we there yet? No. Are we there yet? No. Are we there yet? No.
River's edge: There's no doubt that the Pennsylvania Turnpike is a very scenic route, but this was a day for putting the pedal to the metal and getting the heck home.
Broad side of a barn: Despite the overwhelming desire to get home, we could still be awed every so often by great signage.
Getting closer: Breezewood, which taunts you into thinking you're almost home, when you're not. (That doesn't mean we don't still worship the place.)

If you're looking for a picture of us arriving back home, sorry to disappoint you. By that point, we just wanted to get in the door and collapse into our own bed. But don't let the crankiness of Day 14 fool you--this was a fabulous trip. JD harbored many concerns that Bill would be nowhere near as enamored of cross-country driving as she is, but she needn't have worried. Hopefully it won't be too long before we get to do this again.
