Day 12: 275 miles | Left Sioux Falls: 10:00 am | Arrived Minneapolis: 3:45 pm

Another day, another family restaurant chain: You'd think at some point we'd have gotten tired of eggs, bacon and hash browns. You'd think wrong.

On the Banks of Plum Creek: You didn't believe for a second that JD would set foot in Minnesota and not get to Walnut Grove, did you?

Tilting: We will resist any reference to these being our "biggest fans."

Next stop, Mankato: The "Little House on the Prairie" tour continues. This is Sleepy Eye, Minnesota--you cult members will know what we're talking about.

Why, they seem to scrape the sky! Driving into Minneapolis, we quickly get a pretty clear indication that we've left the High Plains behind.

Meow: The Mary Tyler Moore statue in downtown Minneapolis, erected by TV Land to commemorate one of America's watershed moments, the Tossing of the Hat.

I think it's called Murray's: We just cannot ever get enough of hip, happening neon signs outside of steakhouses. And dancing, to boot!

Warehouse songs and stories: Another day, another downtown revitalization project. A football player was shot and killed near the next intersection a few hours after this picture was taken, which made us feel right at home.
